Each year during the third week of March, poison control centers nationwide celebrate National Poison Prevention Week!  During this time, the New Jersey Poison Center and our community partners intensify efforts to educate all New Jersey residents about the importance of poison prevention and to raise awareness about potential poisons and poison center services.

Poison centers help to eliminate thousands of unnecessary and expensive emergency room (ER) visits by offering callers access to free, confidential, medical advice.  Medical experts are available 24/7/365 to help in the event of an emergency or exposure, and to answer all of your poison related questions.

New Jersey Poison Center staff are currently in the process of planning Poison Prevention Week activities for March 17-23, 2019.  If you/your organization would like to partner or plan an event during the month of March to celebrate PPW please reach out to Danielle Bartsche (drb144@njms.rutgers.edu).
