Professional Education
Professional education is considered a critical activity at NJPIES. We offer many educational programs for licensed health care professionals, residents in training and students. Our professional staff provides programs on-site at NJPIES as well as at universities and health care facilities throughout New Jersey.
Advisory Council
The Advisory Council promotes and enhances the mission of the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System (NJPIES) by providing support, guidance and expertise in policies, services and initiatives.
The Council’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advocating for poison prevention, contributing to the public visibility of NJPIES and its programs, supporting educational outreach activities, providing input and advice regarding budgeting and funding activities, participating in the NJPIES’ Strategic Planning process, and identifying ways and means to increase the penetration of NJPIES’ services throughout New Jersey.

NJPIES’ Toxicology Journal Club
On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 2pm, the Toxicology faculty at Rutgers NJMS Department of Emergency Medicine and the graduate and undergraduate students rotating at NJPIES engage in discussion about new and classic articles in the field of Medical Toxicology.
